There are a handful of popular browsers in the market, and Google Chrome is capturing a lion's share of the entire browser market followed by Safari, Edge, Opera, and Firefox. The choice of a browser often depends on personal preferences, features, and the specific needs of the user.

1. Google Chrome

Google Chrome is the most widely used browser in the market with an overall market share of 63%. It is supported on virtually every operating system available on the market including Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Linux, and Android. Google Chrome is based on the open-source Chromium web browser project and has an extensive collection of browser extensions.

2. Safari

Safari is a web browser developed by Apple, and it is the default browser on all Apple devices including Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It uses Apple's open-source browser engine, WebKit, and it is tightly integrated into macOS, iOS and iPadOS. Apple no longer offers Safari on Windows due to low market share. As of 2003, Safari has about 19.9% market share of all browsers.

3. Edge

Edge is a successor of Microsoft Explorer, which is now built on an open-source Chromium browser. Edge is a default browser on the Windows operating system, and it offers integration with ChatGPT AI language model with the Bing search engine. Edge has about 5.5% of the browser market.

4. Mozilla Firefox

Firefox is an open-source web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation. It uses the Gecko rendering engine and is supported on virtually all operating systems including Windows, Mac, and Linux as well as iOS and Android. It has a market share of about 3.1% of all browser market.

5. Opera

Opera is a web browser developed by Opera, and it is based on the Chromium. Opera is also available on virtually every platform including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. It has about 3.3% market share in the browser market.

6. Brave

Brave is an open-source web browser developed by Brave Software, Inc. It is based on the Chromium engine, and is privacy-focused, and provides built-in ad blocker.

7. Tor Browser

Tor is a network of computers providing anonymity on the Internet. Tor browser is a version of Mozilla Firefox designed to access the Tor network and offer an anonymous connection to the Internet by utilizing the Tor onion network. It has an extremely low market share, but it allows user to hide their IP address while accessing the internet.
